Are you a full-time freelancer or have you reached critical capacity in your studio? Selecting the right business entity will protect your personal assets from any liability you may incur as a business owner (and may also offer you some significant tax advantages). But how do you structure your new entity? This workshop will explore the often confusing legal and tax benefits of the three most common buisness structures for artists: the sole proprietorship, the limited liability corporation (LLC), and the S corporation (S corp). We'll even discuss why it may or may not be a good idea to establish a 501(c)(3).
